Taevin getting her ears pierced was actually QUITE the story!
As you can see in the photo above, she chose the tiny little blue diamond as her first stud. A few days after getting them pierced, she woke up from a nap and I noticed that her earring was missing, so I began to look around in the sheets. Then I noticed that the back of the earring was still somehow hanging on the back of her ear lobe.
NOPE.
The tiny gem had been swallowed into the piercing and then CLOSED OVER IT while Taevin was napping! The backing was still attached to the gem, hanging out the back of her ear.
In this moment, I remember thinking, WHAT IN THE HECK DO I DO?!?
Is this a “call 911” moment?! It seemed kind of silly to be so alarmed, but I think I had realized that in order for that earring to come out, I was going to have to shove it through – and it was going to be painful!
Taevin was still in confusion and fear of what was going to happen, but she knew what we had to do and wanted to get that earring out!
I laid her down on the ground and straddled over her with a wet towel behind the ear. Without any notice, I shoved that gem back through the hole so fast!! I quickly removed the back of the earring and then held my crying 5 year old in my arms while she sobbed in shock.
We both decided in that moment that we were done with the ear piercings! She went several years before even considering getting them pierced again! Haha

On this day in may – we were in Florida!
I had planned a surprise trip for Taevin’s 5th Birthday and we flew (Tae’s first flight) and stayed with my cousin Ashley & family. We got to meet my nephew Conner for the first time.
Apparently, I was amused by the animal mailboxes (as you see pictured).

Taevin starts Kindergarten! This would be my 3rd year of doing chalk art on her first day. I had previously done preschool and pre-k. I’ll have to create a link to all of her chalk drawings for the first day of school, we have kept it going all through her current junior year in high school.

I’m really digging the style of the long green shirt I wore to work. I was working Purchasing and Inventory for my grandpa’s electric company.
Nerds Ropes were a new thing, they are good! that must’ve been after I smoked haha.
I was part of a Snapchat group “SNAP YOUR SMOKE” and we would each send snaps to each other throughout the day when we would smoke or anything “flower” related. I was always eager to show off my latest PEARL blunt ๐

New cut and color. I have a deep angle with longer hair in the front. some blonde tones on the underneath layer and that “Dr Pepper Can” red chunks of color on the top – keeping my underlying dark color (to hide those gray roots coming in!)
